These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Beacon, a Slack application operated by Shantanu Pavgi ("we", "us", or "our"). By installing or using Beacon, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Beacon is a free Slack application that allows teams to create broadcast stations and send announcements to subscribers. The service is provided to you at no cost.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By installing Beacon in your Slack workspace or using any part of the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using Beacon on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create through Beacon (station names, broadcast titles, descriptions, etc.). By using Beacon, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit this content solely for the purpose of providing the service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you broadcast.

Beacon is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Beacon shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service (which is zero, since Beacon is free).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Beacon and its operator from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

Beacon integrates with Slack and is hosted on Railway. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms:

You may stop using Beacon at any time by uninstalling it from your Slack workspace. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

Upon termination, all data associated with your workspace is automatically deleted (see our Privacy Policy).

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. The service is hosted in the United States.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Beacon shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Beacon regarding your use of the service.
